Privacy & contributor protection

Website privacy policy — evidence submissions are closed. This website is not currently accepting reports.

Contact and corrections

For website corrections or privacy/removal requests, contact [email protected]. This mailbox is not an anonymous evidence-submission service. Do not email sensitive files or third-party personal information. Email services process sender and recipient details and other metadata.

Public anonymity

Our intention is not to identify residents who submit information. Names, contact details, street addresses of contributors and unredacted documents will not be posted by default.

Technical limitations

Website hosts may collect IP addresses and connection logs, and uploads may contain embedded GPS or device metadata. No website can truthfully guarantee anonymity against every technical or legal disclosure process. Avoid uploading images showing your home, face, vehicle plates or identifying landmarks.

Prepared collection design — not yet active

The prepared form asks for a community, approximate location, observation and optional date, photographs or documents. It does not ask for a name, email, phone number or home address. Original filenames are not transmitted. Do not include personal details in the text or files.

The proposed channel encrypts the contribution in your browser using the reviewer's public key before transmission. The reviewer's private key stays offline. Cloudflare would process your connection and anti-abuse checks and store encrypted files; this does not make your connection anonymous. A compromised browser, device, website script or reviewer device could expose information. A reviewer will be able to read your contribution and any identifying information in it.

Manual review and retention

Nothing is automatically published. Only separately approved, redacted copies or summaries may be placed on the website. Original uploads are never served by the intake system. The proposed encrypted-intake retention is 30 days, with earlier deletion after review where possible. This expiration rule has not yet been configured in a hosting account. Decrypted working copies are to be removed within seven days after a decision. Public copies are reviewed every six months for continuing relevance. Necessary legal preservation exceptions must be documented; provider backups and logs may follow different retention rules.

Keep your original evidence privately. A generated submission reference can help you request correction or deletion without providing a name. A reference is not proof of ownership: requests must be assessed carefully. A verified project contact address and request procedure must be added before intake opens. No email forwarding or attachment notifications are configured.

Image and document protection

A publication-copy tool re-encodes JPEG and PNG images without copying embedded metadata. A human must also check and redact faces, plates, homes, signatures, visible text and identifying viewpoints. PDF and office-document originals will not be published; use a reviewed plain-text summary or safely rendered and redacted page images. Metadata removal alone cannot guarantee anonymity.

Prior to enabling submissions

We will select a service, verify its privacy and retention settings, decide who can access submissions, remove metadata from publication copies, arrange a deletion process, and publish a complete policy identifying the operator and applicable service providers where legally required.

Accuracy and safety

Do not trespass, confront workers, or share non-public personal information. Reports are reviewed for corroboration; submitting something does not mean it will be published.

No public contributor list or automatic upload gallery is planned.
